The Learning Technologies Lab (LTL) within the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) is a central resource that supports the use of technologies as it relates to academic activities in health sciences education. Dedicated to the e-learning needs of the FHS, through offering self-directed learning packages, workshops, research opportunities, and extensive resources, our goal is to build faculty capacity for effective and appropriate use of technology in educational programs and enhance learner experience and success.

Our mission at the McMaster University Learning Technologies Lab is to improve education outcomes through the use of technology to best meet the needs of our faculty. With the aim to enhance learner experience and success, we develop and support faculty in their use of technology, research and evaluate the use of technology in academia, and promote best practices and evidence-based approaches for using technology in education. Through this, we hope to enable faculty, staff and community health professionals to integrate technologies effectively in academia.

  • Faculty Development – Develop faculty capabilities for using technology in their academic roles (e.g., teaching & learning, research and administration).
  • Faculty Support – Providing guidance and support for pedagogical innovations using technology.
  • Communities & Collaborations – Providing opportunities for connection and collaboration between faculty, staff, and learners.
  • Research and Evaluation – Research and evaluate current and emerging technologies and EdTech initiatives in academia.
